There is no doubt that Golestan palace is the oldest palace of Tehran which shines in the heart of city. This palace with its thousand stories and various museum and halls, relates and presents the history of Tehran and Iran since Safavid era and especially the history of Qajars. Unfortunately, today you visit just one third of the real size of this palace because Reza shah Pahlavi destroyed most of the parts and built administrative monuments for the government. The history of this place dates back to more than a thousand years ago but as a palace dates back to Safavid era and it really blossomed in Qajar era. This palace has witnessed all of coronations of all of the kings in Qajar and Pahlavi dynasties. Until the Islamic revolution here was in use for royal and governmental usages but after the revolution it was used just as a museum.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The dominant color in tile works is yellow, which is the symbol of Qajar dynasty and the symmetry is observed almost every that is another element of Qajar architecture. Pahlavi the second; so inspired by so many influences from western countries, especially from France, gave a new spirit to the palace to enrich the Iranian French architecture.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The last repairments date back to late 70th<\/sup> which were done due to the coronation of Mohammadreza and Farah. The French architectural elements were tied with Iranian architectural techniques to present an unique masterpiece. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Entering the palace, you visit a beautiful garden beside more beautiful buildings. The marble throne porch with very nice mirrorwork, colorful tile works, integrated columns, deliberate reliefs and marble throne with 165 marble pieces from Yazd which is the symbol of Solomon\u2018s kingdom are some considerable features of this porch.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Going towards east, you enjoy taking photos of tile works till you reach Khalvate Karimkhani in which there is one of the best tombstones in Iran\u00a0 that dates back to Qajar era. Then you go for the gallery and special museum in which you may find so many outstanding items. Later on you arrive in the main palace which includes Salam, Mirror, Aaj, Dishes and Brilliant halls. This is the place in which so many wedding and coronation ceremonies and governmental meetings like the conference of Tehran were hold.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

After visiting these items you face the eastern wall that is one of the best places to take photos. The next masterpiece is Shamsol emare which used to be the highest building of Tehran in 19th<\/sup> century. It\u2019s a combination of Iranian and English architecture which was built by the son-in-law of Nasseredin shah. So many foreign tourists have witnessed the most beautiful mirror work and interior design in Golestan palace.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Right after Shamsol emare you visit Badgir mansion in the southern part of the palace which used to be a summer place also a proper place to have sex in. this is the place in which you can see the acme of Qajar architecture. Exclusive Qajar symmetry, mirror work, tile work, painting, wood mosaic and so on are the items that seduce every visitor. Beneath this mansion you can also visit a water reservoir which is out of order but there are so many attractive pictures from Qajar era instead.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The last two prominent places to visit in the palace which are Almass mansion in which you visit great mirror work just like diamonds and Abyas mansion which is a good ethnology museum. <\/strong><\/p>\n
