Azadi tower:<\/strong><\/p>\n

This tower used to be the symbol of Tehran for so many years and even nowadays most of the people know and consider this tower as the symbol of Tehran. Azadi or formerly known Shahyad, was built by Hossein Amanat around fifty years ago for the coronation of Mohammadreza and Farah. This is a great combination of pre Islamic and Islamic architecture which presents the rich artistic architecture of our ancestors. It is forty five meters high and sixty meters wide which is located in big square beyond imagination with nice underpasses that increase the glory of the complex. Inside the tower there are coffee shops, restaurants, theatre hall, cinema and stone museum and other entertainments welcome the visitors very well. Sassanian, Achaemenids and Islamic architecture blossom in this special tower. The whole plan of the square in which the tower stands, shows a cross which is the symbol of Mithraism; one of the ancient Iranian religions, by which the architect wanted to use different concepts from different Iranian cultures. Hussein Amanat; the designer, won the designing competition among so many architects. First they wanted to name it the gate of Cyrus but later Shahyad was the best choice for this marvelous landmark.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Visiting this monument let you find out a fine connection between old and modern Iranian architecture. When you enter the square you cannot digest how huge this tower is. Entering it takes you to another world; visiting beautiful stones, hospitable personnel, a robot which speaks, great overview on the top of the tower and so many other attractive items. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Azadi tower is the most famous one among Iranians so all of them can lead you to visit it. Azadi street; a famous one, can easily lead you there. Usually this great masterpiece is seen from two kilometers before you arrive. \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
