This is the sixth highest telecommunication tower and twenty fourth freestanding structure all over the world which is high about 436 meters that has presented itself as the symbol of Tehran. Its coffee shops, restaurants, cinemas, museums, concerts, exhibitions, shops and a wonderful view over the city has attracted so many tourists since its opening. You can see this tower where ever you are in the city so can be used as a guide to find other places and directions in Tehran. Milad in Farsi means birthday and this name was chosen for this tower as it was opened in on the 100th<\/sup> birthday party of Imam Khomeini the founder of Islamic republic of Iran in 1979.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

This tower was just a part of a development project which had been planned in 1970s but it was opened officially to public in 2009 by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf the mayor of Tehran. Mohammad Reza Hafezi was the designer of this project and the main supporter was the municipality of Tehran. The opening ceremony was completely covered by more than two hundreds journalists from all around the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The lobby structure consist of six floors and in the first three floors there are food courts, trade units, and cafeteria and product exhibition. Two underground floors are used to control the tower. The ground floor is always happy to welcome the visitors.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It has six elevators to take you to the top of the tower but usually four of them work. Between the base and the top of the tower there is no floor and there are just stairs. The Swiss elevators take you there in seven meters per second. On the top of the tower there are twelve floors including public art gallery, cafeteria, revolving restaurant, VIP restaurant, telecommunication, mechanical, fire-immune areas, closed observation deck, open observation deck and sky dome. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
