Persepolis:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The most visited touristic site in Iran which used to be the most civilized and rich city under the sun and today is considered as one of the most important remnants of the civilization in ancient Iran. The constructing process began in 518 BC by Daryus the first and took more than a century but Persepolis or Takhte Jamshid was burned and destroyed by Alexander in just one day. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Achaemenids Empire was founded by Cyrus the great in 550 B.C. He tried to unite all of the nations and died while he had been wounded in a war against Scythians in northeast of Iran. When he died, Daryus; the cousin of Cyrus fight against other rivals to gain the power and rule the whole Persia. <\/strong><\/p>\n

He was a brave tactful man who reinforced and developed Achaemenids Empire and ordered to build the best city all around the world. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Persepolis or the city of Persians is the symbol of United Nations in ancient time which gathered all of the nations and their cultures to one place under the will of Achaemenids Emperor. <\/strong><\/p>\n

In every corner of Persepolis you see different conceptual symbols from different nations in those times but covered by Persian art. It used to have 550 columns which were based on the story of 550 trees of Eden garden. The canals of water, theological elements, the whole plan, the gardens and mountains around it, the numbers of columns, arches and stairs try to take you to a land connected to heaven just like Eden garden.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Achaemenids used this city as a place to gather the representatives of all nations in New Year and the treasury of Empire. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Unfortunately this great city was burnt by Alexander in 331 B.C to put an end to the glory of Persians. But he did not know that after a century they would rise again.<\/strong><\/p>\n

To visit this masterpiece of architecture you should leave Shiraz from the northern gate and drive around one hour then after Marvdasht the billboards lead you there. <\/strong><\/p>\n
