The shrine of Estar:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Near the old bazaar\u00a0of Hamedan there is a prominent shrine that is the second most important holly place for Jews after Jerusalem. Estar and Mordekay were two influential persons in Achaemenids era who saved many Jews\u00a0and penetrated into the kingdom and controlled many events and politics in the empire. Remember that the building dates back to 2500 years ago and have been visited by so many Jews\u00a0from different part of the world.<\/b><\/p>\n

Many Jews were in prison by the time Cyrus the great; the founder of Achaemenids, had surrounded the great city of Babylonia; the most important city in ancient time, in order to occupy the city and beat its cruel ruler. He won the battle and set all of the prisoners, including the Jews, free and let them go back their homes across the Middle East. Some of the Jews decided to go back to Jerusalem and some others decided to go towards Persia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Among them, Mordekay and Estar came to Persia and little by little extended their power inside the Persian Empire and Estar became the beloved girl of Xerexes the grandson of Cyrus and the third emperor of Achaemenids so the Jews could spread their power inside the Empire. It is said the got marry and Xerexes dedicated so many things to Estar.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When you enter the place you face simplicity everywhere and suddenly find yourself at the grand heavy door of shrine which is around 400 kilograms.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You go inside while bowing down and right after a chapel you enter the place in which two tombstones reveal. On the walls you can recognize ten orders of Moses, the genealogy and the poems of David which take you through the history of Judaism. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is also a synagogue outside the shrine which is very popular among Jews who enjoy a lot praying inside there.<\/strong><\/p>\n
