The Bisitun of Kermanshah:<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the most important historical sites in Iran in which you find different remnants from hunting to contemporary era. Its real name used to be called Baghestun which means the place of God and it really suits this place in which you feel divinity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When you enter thi\"\"s area, the height of the mount horrifies you and draw your attention. Little by little, various historical attractions take you to various eras. First of all a relief from Partian era then the most important inscription of ancient Persia is seen in the middle of mount which dates back to Achaemenid era and was engraved by the order of Daryus the first. It is very important as it says the story that how he gained power and reinforced the Achaemenid Empire which was about to collapse after Cyrus the great, the founder of that empire, so Daryus fought those who had betrayed the dynasty and became the second emperor of Achaemenids. He chose this place as it used to be a holly natural temple even before Achaemenids in for Elamites also was located right close to the international road from Persepolis towards Mesopotamia. It is considerable that by decoding and reading this inscription, all of the inscriptions dating back to Achaemenids era in Iran could be read and translated.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After visiting this inscription a cave draws your attention which dates back to hunting era and is the reason of fame of Bisitun. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Then you continue your way to visit the remnants of a palace and the biggest bas relief of ancient Persia which never was completed by anyone due to the Arab invasion which put an end to the Sassanian Empire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the end of this complex you visit a caravanserai which dates back to Safavid era to show you how important this place used to be even in Islamic era. <\/strong><\/p>\n

To visit this special place which is considered a world cultural heritage by UNESCO you should go to Bisiton or Bisotoun town which is located 20 kilometers east of the city of Kermanshah.<\/strong><\/p>\n
