The Temple of Anahita:<\/strong><\/p>\n

A temple which served the prayers for Anahita; the goddess of water and springs also fertility in Parthian era but unfortunately, nowadays there are just the remnants of that legendary temple in Kangavar.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The city of Kangavar is located between Hamedan and Kermanshah and has always played an important role as a connector for trade between these two cities. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Being on a connecting road even in Ancient Persia made this city very important to Parthians who had gained power over the Greek and as there were a lot of fans of Anahita all around the country so they built a huge temple of this Goddesses in Kangavar. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anahita was one of the three holy creatures for Persians in Ancient time who was assumed as a great supporter of women. She was considered as a Goddesses of fertility so people used to ask Anahita for having babies and water and a great fertility of their livestock and agriculture.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Little by little she became more and more important for people so as a result, many temples was built to praise her all over the empire and even in Sassanian era the face of Anahita used to carved on so many relieves, coins and tablets as a supporter of emperor just beside Mithra; another goddesses of Persians. \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"Unfortunately, due to many invasions towards this temple and a great contemporary earthquake, have left almost no document to help us understand more about this temple. But based on archaeological\u00a0excavations, we know for sure that here used to be the largest temple of Anahita in Ancient Persia including a great large pool on the top of the complex to praise water besides many saloons and halls to receive guests and letting them celebrate the glory of Anahita. \u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

To visit the temple of Anahita you should go towards the city of Kangavar which is around 85 kilometers east of the city of Kermanshah and fortunately this temple is located in the main street of the city so as soon as you enter the city you continue going towards Hamedan and just in the middle of road on the right side the temple will wave hand for you. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
