There has been so many Christian Martyrs in the history of Christianity who sacrificed their lives to give freedom to the people and religion but Saint Thaddeus was the first.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"Saint Thaddeus, Jude, Judas Thaddeus or Jude the Apostle was born in the city of Galilee in Roman Empire. He was one of the twelve Apostles of Jesus who became the first martyr of Christianity killed in Beirut then transported to Persia as a free land for religions. There are so many legendary stories saying different places as the tomb of Thaddeus but for sure we can say that he was the one who brought Christianity to Persia and his monastery in North West of Iran is still the most sacred place which gather various Christians from all around the world for pilgrimage. <\/strong><\/p>\n

This place is known as Ghare Klisa which means the black church due to the black stones which were used to build it. The construction of this UNESCO world heritage church and monastery dates back to 68 A.D but most of the construction dates back to Qajar era in early 19th<\/sup> century by the help of Abbas Mirza the crown king of Fath Alishah the king of Persia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The architecture of Ghare Klisa reminds you of roman architecture but in a deliberate harmony with Armenian style. When you see it from a far distance you think it is not real as it is located in the middle of nowhere in a vast plain, then when you reach it, the greatness of it would be beyond your imagination.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When you enter the main gate suddenly you find yourself in the early centuries of Christianity also a deep divinity. Every single part of this place take you to pure theology and leave you in the hands of God. <\/strong><\/p>\n
