Malek museum:

One of the sixth calligraphy treasures in Iran which was dedicated by Haj Hussein Malek in National garden. This museum shows a rich and great treasure of painting, coin, stamp, carpet, calligraphy and Qajar art. This huge library used to be in his house in the middle of Bazaar which was transferred here in order to expand in 90s. Agha Mahdi the grandfather of Haj Hussein, was one of the upper hands in Tabriz who supported the crown prince financially to go to Tehran so he had a great influence on the royal family of Qajar. His children developed the heritage and gave Haj Hussein that important heritage. He faced an old book in east of Iran accidently and found an special tendency for history and art inside himself, so he decided to dedicate his money on collecting artistic and historical antiques. He was in love with Imam Reza the eighth Imam for Shia Muslims. Haj Hussein dedicated all of his treasures to his Imam and made a will to his five daughters to take care of this unique treasury, then died in 1972.

 

This museum usually is not in many itineraries but is something you really should visit to know more about Persian art and history.

To visit this treasury you should go to Imam Khoomeini subway station then take Imam Khomeini Street to reach the great gate of national garden which attracts you on the right side of the street through which you enter the national garden and after a just one minute walking you find Malek museum on the left side.
