Tekie Moavenolmolk in Kermanshah:
This is a masterpiece from Qajar era (19th century) which is the most beautiful tekieh in Iran. The place in which people hold a funeral ceremony for Imam Hussain the third Imam of Shia Muslims. The wonderful tilework with various motifs and stories that present the history of Iran and the event of Ashoora very well.
It is located in the heart of grand bazaar and is very easy to reach. When you enter the place you find yourself in a cozy yard whose walls are full of beautiful tile works on which the story of Persian history are told.
Afterwards you enter the main hall ornamented by great Persian religious paintings and colored windows which give you a proper understanding of Persian interior design which is much nicer than its outdoor design. In a corner you find a tomb belonging to the founder of this building. Then you go to the interior yard to find a vast area full of the beauty of nature and tile works and Persian calligraphy. In the right corner you should take some steps to visit a museum that tells you about the culture of Kermanshah in a place which used to be a place of living of the family of Moavenolmolk.
Hossein khan moeinnoroaya as a fan and follower of Imam Hossein wanted to show the world the story of Ashoora; the day on which Imam was martyred. He tried so hard but unfortunately this building was attacked during the revolutionary movement against the king of Iran. Of Corse it happened as the owner of this place was connected to the royal system.
