A house in Rasht which is the birthplace of Yunes Ostadsaraei or Mirza kuchak khan jangali who was a great revolutionary in last years of nineteenth and early twentieth century that fought against the government and Russians and finally died lonely because of cold in the middle of jungle.
He was born in 1880 and died after the First World War in 1921 and his corpse was found in jungle and his head was cut off to be sent to his enemies.
He started his movement called Jungle movement in 1914 and long time after his death continued in the province of Gilan till the Islamic revolution.
He was born in the city of Rasht and was named Yunes; the Persian pronunciation of Jonah, but it is said that he was originally came from a Kurmanj tribe which is considered as one the third biggest Kurdish tribe in Iran.
He was one of the lower commanders of invaders towards Tehran in a movement against the Shah of Iran to force him stop destroying the parliament of Iran.
As the main uprising had begun in Rasht and Tabriz also supported by Bakhtiari nomad, Mirzakuchak could easily join this movement to prove himself as a revolutionary but after a while once again those who had power, enjoyed having power and did not care about ordinary people so some people like MirzaKuchak who had fought against injustice and inequity in the society, decided to found and establish another independent movement to reach pure independence and justice.
Although he fought very well and supported strongly by people but was left alone and abounded due to the strength of Russian army which in result force the poor people of Iran who had been struggling poverty and famine for many years, stop helping Mirza.
Nowadays the house of Mirza in the heart of the old part of Rasht has a lot of stories to tell you about him.
On the other hand his mausoleum in the graveyard of Soleymanabad in Rasht; Having Iranian Islamic architecture that was built after the Islamic revolution, is an outstanding symbol and landmark to remind people of the great myth of Gilan.
