The village of kandovan:
Kandovan is the only rocky village all round the world in which people still live. The history of civilization in this area dates back to 7 centuries ago when the people of nearby ran away from Mongol invasion and started to dig the rocks to settle down. Of course, we have similar villages in Turkey and USA but there is no one living there.
Kandovan itself means digging and really matches the story of the people who live there but on the other hand there are some guessing which believe in the existence of civilization there before Arab invasion.
To visit this masterpiece, you should go to the city of Oskou which is around 1 hour from the city of Tabriz.
