The holy place of Chak Chak in Ardakan

The holy place of Chak Chak in Ardakan:

This is the most important place for Zoroastrians all around the world which is located in the heart of the eastern mountains of Ardakan. The place in which one of the daughters of Yazdgerd the third; the last emperor of Sassanians, was hidden. The stories say she was running away from the Arabs and finally she arrived this mountains then the center of the mountains opened so she could enter and hide forever. Nowadays you can see a Cypress tree and an immortal flowing pool coming out of rock.    

When you take the road from the city of Ardakan towards desert you cannot imagine what awaits you beyond deserts and mountains. There are so many stories about this place but no one really does not exactly know why this place became holy for Zoroasterians but when you arrive there you find out peace and greatness and fertility which is quite weird inside of the heart of desert.

 Fravahar: Something which moves you forward. It is a symbol of good deed, good thought and good word. The man in the middle is the symbol of a forty years old man who is a symbol of maturity, two wings including three parts are the symbol of good words, good thought and good deed and two tails are the symbol of bad and good instinct inside of ourselves and the button part is the symbol of bad deed, bad words and bad thought. As you see the man is holding a ring in his hand which is the symbol of commitment between man and God. If the man keep his commitment with God and uses the wings can go to heaven easily.

There you find many stairs to lead you to a holy cave in which water and a cypress tree come out of rocks to make a heaven inside of nowhere.   

Chakchak means leaking water and this name comes from the water which is coming out of the rock inside of the cave.

Usually in spring many Zoroasterians gather there to celebrate and pray together and this gathering is considered as the most important gathering for Zoroasterians all around the world.
