The Ethnology museum of Zanjan:
Every museum has its story to touch your heart and take you to the different parts of history but Ethnology museums usually explain to you everything about them including their culture, lifestyle, beliefs, thoughts etc.
The ethnology museum of Zanjan which is called Rakhtshoykhane that used to be a place in which people washed their clothes was built after the first world war. You find no place like this in Iran whose function is just washing the clothes.
It is amazing that people could use this public place 24/7 for free and had been dedicated to the women who usually were considered as washing owners.
Different segments of this area were precisely planned to lead people. For example, the clothes of patients were separated from other dirty clothes to protect people from diseases.
Besides its function in old times the outstanding beauty of this building is really breathtaking.
About twenty years ago after many restorations and repairments this beautiful place was appointed by the tourism ministry to be the representative of people of Zanjan and one of the biggest ethnology museums of Iran in order to attract those people who are interested in culture and traditions.
To visit this museum, you should go to Saadi street in the heart of the city of Zanjan.
The passion isn’t just inspiring—it’s downright seductive. Who knew a subject could be this enticing?
