Having the only highest, active and beautiful salt dome in the Middle East which has been registered as a national natural landmark in Bushehr province, this place has drawn attention and attracted so many tourists in recent years.
Besides many attractive landscapes there is a rich heaven for the geologists. The main salt dome is 12 kilometers high and 4.5 kilometers wide. The area is around 3666 hectares and the height of the acme is 1350 meters from sea level.
There are two legends about this place, the first says many believe that there used to be many goats in the region and the women who had been seduced to milk them were transformed to salt rocks by a satanic spell, the second says the region used to be a cozy home for a huge monster.
Different colors of salt such as red, yellow, white, black, orange and brown all around the place besides salt crystals and so many other non-silicate inorganics like Pyrite and Fluorite touch ever visitor’s heart.
Other landmarks are the salt glaciers, caves, pools, water falls, cauliflower valley, playa and Jinn chimneys.
