Morteza Ali fountain in South Khorasan
Located in east of the city of Tabas there is a complex of natural springs and fountains both cold and hot which is something unique in Iran. Another especial attraction which is a great added value to this place is the oldest and largest arch dam all around the world.

The local people believe that Imam Ali; the first imam of Shia Muslims, once crossed there and opened up the mountains to be baptized by the angels inside the clean water coming out of them.

It feels great that small fishes give you a foot massage while walking in the water and cute crabs touch your heart. There is also another fish which is called Doctor fish as it eats all the dead cells on your skin.
There are so many handmaid wholes which dates back to the Sassanid era but no one knows for sure what kind of function they used to have.
At the end of the path there is a sixty meters dam dating back to the Safavid era which has been the highest arch dam for more than 550 years worldwide.
The reliefs of goats nearby; dating back to the Sassanid era, are the symbols of water guardian angels which were engraved to praise water and wish for fertility.
