Saadabad palace:
A palace which is more Pahlavi than Qajar and in Qajar era was just an unimportant small place for the royal family but later on, Reza shah Pahlavi started constructing and developing a huge complex here. He built the green palace plus the white or nation palace which were two important parts of the complex. Later on Mohammadreza continued this construction and built different mansions for different members of the royal family. It is notable that this place was used as a summer palace for Pahlavi kings till 1971. Since then the royal family decided to live in Niavaran palace till the Islamic revolution in 1978. This complex is still used for receiving high rank guests from all around the world. Various events are also hold here to make this royal place more public.
When you enter from the southern gate (the main gate) you find a big map of the complex which can lead you to any place you are searching for in Saadabad. Besides so many royal items, the great weather is something special you can experience inside this complex. Beautiful simple mansions blossom from the beauty of nature. Here you can learn a lot about Pahlavi family specially their head who was Reza shah the founder of Pahlavi dynasty. Reza came from a weak family of one of the villages in north of Iran. He joined the army and because of his competence and loyalty little by little he could gain more positions and power in army and in government so he decided to make a coup d’etat and found a new dynasty against Qajar right after the First World War. He built many modern infrastructures like university, airport, railroad and so on. This great complex it is just one of those masterpieces in that time.
