The Jameh mosque of Semnan

0

This mosque as one the earliest one in Iran was built on a great fire temple which could not survive and resist against the Arab invasion. It has the common elements just like any other mosque such as dome, Shabestan, praying hall and so on. The main yard is a 27*25 meters triangle. The northern Shabestan (the resting place), has 16 thick circular columns on which the arches lay.

The oldest Shabestan is the winter one which is located in the southern part.

The north eastern minaret is around 32 meters which represents an outstanding beauty by its fine artistic brick work.
