Etching

Introduction:
This technique means engraving on different metals and has a long history and even more than thousand years that drew attentions since Achaemenids era and has always been considered one the most important handicrafts. There are so many Iranian products in different museums all around the world which proves the long history of this art in Iran.
Technique explanation:
Nowadays gold and copper are mostly used for this technique. At first they pour the dish with tar and stucco in order to prevent the sound while etching, then the plan is drawn and the artist tries to shape by engraving and etching. After shaping the dish or container they take out the tar and spray the coal powder on fractures then polish it.
